The Serenity of Santa Catalina

Image
The town of Santa Catalina has two places that truly show peace and beauty—the church and the beach. Even though they are very different, both give the same feeling of calm and comfort. The church in Santa Catalina is simple but meaningful. It’s a place where people come to pray, reflect, and find peace. The quiet atmosphere makes it easy to think clearly and feel close to God. The light coming through the windows adds a warm and calm feeling that reminds people that faith doesn’t need to be loud to be strong. On the other hand, the beach in Santa Catalina shows a different kind of peace. The sound of the waves and the cool wind bring a sense of freedom. Watching the sea can clear your mind and make you feel lighter. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit, relax, and let go of all your worries. Both the church and the beach represent peace in different ways—one through faith, and the other through nature. They remind us that no matter where we are, peace is always within reach. ...

Building the Basics

Image
This quarter, I learned about HTML tags, which are the basic building blocks of creating web pages. I discovered how each tag serves a purpose, such as adding titles, paragraphs, images, and links to make a webpage more organized and readable. It was interesting to see how simple codes like <p>, <h1>, and <img> can completely change the look and structure of a website. Learning HTML made me appreciate how websites are built and how creativity can be combined with coding. One of the challenges I faced was memorizing and understanding the proper use of different HTML tags. At first, I would often forget to close tags or mix up the placement, which caused errors in the output. It was frustrating to see the design not appear the way I expected. Another challenge was making my webpage look neat and well-formatted because even a small mistake could affect the whole structure. To overcome these challenges, I practiced regularly by creating simple webpages and reviewing my mi...

The Heart Behind Every Lesson

Image
Teachers contribute a lot to how we are and who we will become. They are not just there to teach lessons from books, but they also share life lessons that guide us every day. The theme “My Teacher, My Hero” for the 2025 Teacher’s Month Celebration reminds us how teachers help us reach our goals and dreams. They guide us patiently, even when we make mistakes, and they never give up on helping us improve. For me, teachers are heroes because they dedicate their time, energy, and heart to every student they teach. I believe that being a teacher is not an easy job. They spend long hours preparing lessons, checking papers, and thinking of ways to make learning fun and understandable. Yet, despite how hard it can be, they always show up with a smile and continue to inspire us. Their love for teaching and care for students make them truly deserving of the title “hero.” They teach us not only about subjects like math, science, or English but also about values, discipline, and kindness — things ...

Science for a Brighter Tomorrow

Image
The celebration of the 2025 National Science Month reminds us how important science is in shaping our future. With the theme "Harnessing the Unknown: Powering the Future through Science and Innovation," it encourages us to go beyond what we already know and use new discoveries to solve today's problems. Science has always helped us improve our daily lives, and it continues to give us hope for a better future. Science and society are always connected. Every discovery affects the way we live, from technology and communication to health and the environment. In the coming years, we can expect science to play an even bigger role in addressing issues like climate change, energy shortages, and global health concerns. At the same time, society needs to use these advancements wisely so that they will truly benefit people and protect the world we live in. As we look ahead, it is important for science and society to work together. Education, awareness, and responsible use of technol...

A Wake up Call

Image
Climate change is no longer just a topic we read about in science books—it's something we can actually see and feel around us. The weather has become unpredictable, storms are stronger, and the heat during summer feels more intense than it used to be. It's a reminder that our planet is changing, and not always for the better. What makes climate change alarming is how it affects our everyday lives. Farmers struggle when the rains don’t come on time, while families living near the coast worry about rising sea levels. Even in cities, people feel the effects through flooding or extreme heat waves. It’s clear that this isn’t just about the environment—it’s about people, communities, and our future. The good news is, we are not completely helpless. Small changes can create a big impact when many of us do them together. Things like reducing pla...

Intramural Spirit

Image
Intramurals are one of the most exciting events in school because they give students the chance to enjoy and show their skills outside academics. They are important because they promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit. For a few days, students get to take a break from lessons and join games, cheer for their teams, and support their classmates. More than just playing or watching, intramurals bring everyone together and make the school community feel alive and united. For me, this year's intramurals was a mix of fun, stress, and learning. As part of the MAPEH Club, I had the chance to help organize activities like Esports tournaments (Mobile Legends and Call of Duty) and different booths. Handling the Esports was not easy because some players were hot-headed and very competitive, which made the games harder to manage. On the other hand, preparing and running the booths took a lot of time and energy. It was tiring, but it also felt good to see students visiting and enjoying...

This activity helps reduce pollution and it teaches everyone the importance of working together for a cleaner community.
